Pieter Aertsen, Apostles Peter and John, 1575
“The evidence for our New Testament writings is ever so much greater than the evidence for many writings of classical authors, the authenticity of which no-one dreams of questioning. And if the New Testament were a collection of secular writings, their authenticity would generally be regarded as beyond all doubt. It is a curious fact that historians have often been much readier to trust the New Testament than have many theologians.”
F.F. Bruce (1910-1990)

The study of the New Testament conjures up awe and wonder as one ponders the extent of God’s mercy and love in sending His Son.  Jesus came to do His Father’s will by redeeming the lost and establishing the Kingdom of Heaven.  The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus’ triumphant victory over death and the establishment of His bride, the church, to carry out His message of hope.  Early believers attested to what they had seen, touched, and heard.  New Testament Christians rejoiced at being counted worthy to suffer for the Lord as God brought about His kindgom reign.
